American Music Revolution (AMR) 2013 OFFICIAL Rules & Prizes



Showcase Audition will be held for those artists who have Registered by January 21st, 2013 and Auditions will be held January 24th and 25th, 2013 at the Hilton Hotel in Atlanta.

OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

  • Each group can have a maximum of 8 members,

  • All of which must be 18 years or older to participate.
     

Limit one entry per Solo Artist or Groups. All subsequent entries from a single group will be void. All Artists must be 18 years of age or older as of Jan 9, 2013.

To Enter: Artists need to fill out registration form and submit (1) one mp3 of an original song at www.THEAMERICANMUSICREVOLUTION.com.

To enter, you must submit a song recorded solo artist or group, on which the solo or group artist plays an original musical composition and lyrics (music and lyrics must be written and owned by a member or members of the group and recording must be owned by a member or members of the group) along with the completed online Official Registration Form. The music submitted cannot have been previously published by a songwriter outside of group members performing. Modification of another artists existing work does not qualify as original. Sponsors and their affiliates are not responsible for lost, late, damaged, illegible, incomplete entries or for any mail or delivery issues related to this contest. All entries shall become the property of Sponsors and will not be acknowledged or returned.

Selection Process

On or around, January, 22nd, 2013, WIS will place select solo or group artist MP3's on  www.THEAMERICANMUSICREVOLUTION.com.

On or around February, 1st, 2013 the top thirty-two (32) Artists (16 Urban and 16 Country or Rock) will be selected by authorized representatives of WIS and affiliate Judges. Artist will be selected based on the following criteria: originality of music and lyrics (0-25 points); appeal of Genre style (0-25 points); quality of musicianship (0-25 points); and overall technical presentation as demonstrated by the MP3 submitted (0-25 points). The selection process and application of the above criteria will be at Sponsors' sole discretion.

If Selected to Perform: Each artist selected will be assigned a night on which they will compete at the ATLANTA VENUE. Each member of each group or solo artist selected to perform will be required to execute The AMERICAN MUSIC REVOLUTION Showcase Engagement Agreement that must be returned before the band or solo artist will be permitted to perform in each round of the competition. Sponsors reserve the right to verify any entrant's eligibility and the right to disqualify any participating group or solo artist that violates Sponsors' policies or rules. Non-compliance with any of the foregoing may result in disqualification of the entire group or solo artist.

The showcase will be as follows:

Semi-Finals: February 7th and 9th for Urban and February 8th and 10th for Country or Rock

At the ATLANTA VENUE there will be eight (8) artists per night on which artist picked from each round will perform. Each solo or group artist will have a total of 15 minutes to set up their equipment and to play their compositions. Full backline will be provided. The majority of each group’s set must consist of original material. Sponsors reserve the right (in their sole discretion) to disqualify any band that performs primarily cover material during the competition. Members of the audience will vote by ballot for the groups of that evening (30%) of the vote along with a panel of three (3) or more industry professionals will vote accounting for (70%) of the vote. Overall highest total of the two scoring factors will progress to the finals round. Ballots will be counted and judged at the conclusion of all the groups set by authorized representative(s) of THE AMERICAN MUSIC REVOLUTION AND ATTENDING STAFF OF ATLANTA VENUE.

Final Showcase: March 2nd for Urban and March 1st or 3rd TBD for Country and/or Rock

Eight Artists (4 Urban and 4 Country/Rock from the Semi Finals at the ATLANTA VENUE) will join one additional group or solo artist selected by the judges as a “Fan’s Choice Save” the group for the return to the ATLANTA VENUE for the finals run March, 2nd, 2013 for Urban and March 1st or 3rd for the Country or rock and will play a set of approximately 30 minutes in length.

For the Eight (8) artists (4 Urban and 4 Country or Rock) playing during the second round, the voting process will be a combination of audience voting (to include downloads from internet activity) and voting from a panel of judges. First, members of the audience will vote by ballot for their respective favorite band. Second, a panel of a minimum of three (3) industry professionals will vote for their favorite band. Audience voting will account for 30% of the vote and the industry representatives will account for 70% of the vote. Ballots will be counted and judged at the conclusion of all sets by authorized representative(s).

Based on the results of the voting online for final showcase, the "1st place winner" will be announced at the conclusion of the showcase finals on March 2nd for Urban and March 1st or 3rd for Country or Rock.

PRIZES:

Atlanta: Cash Prizes totaling $5000.00 will be awarded to winners

1st Place Winner will receive a cash prize of $2500.00
2nd Place Winner will receive a cash prize of $1250.00
3rd Place Winner will receive a cash prize of $750.00
4th Place Winner will receive a cash prize of $500.00

Additional opportunities available for 1st and 2nd place winners of The American Music Revolution Showcase 2013 will include:

  • A Booking Tour for the S.E.

  • A spread in What I Stream Magazine

Regional Winners: Cash Prizes totaling $20,000.00 will be awarded

1st Place Winner will receive a cash prize of $15,000.00
2nd Place Winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000.00
 

Additional opportunities available for 1st and 2nd place regional winners of the American Music Revolution Showcase 2013 will include:

  • A Prestigious 1 year Label Contract, a National Booking Tour
  • Spread in What I Stream Magazine.

National Winner: Cash Prizes totaling $250,000.00 will be awarded

1st Place Winner will receive a cash prize of $200,000.00
2nd Place Winner will receive a cash prize of $50,000.00
 

The 1st place winner will receive in addition:

  • A 2013 FORD FOCUS car

  • A prestigious 3 year Label Contract
  • International Tour

TROPHIES:

At the finals on Saturday, March, 2nd 2013 for Urban and March 1st or 3rd for Country or Rock for THE AMERICAN MUSIC REVOLUTION Showcase, a trophy will be presented to each the “Fan’s Choice” and “Overall Winner”.


Miscellaneous:

  • By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these rules.

  • It is understood that these Rules and Regulations and dates are subject to change.

  • A final hard copy of the rules will be provided by the AMERICAN MUSIC REVOLUTION on or before the first round of performances.

  • Neither the Sponsors nor anyone acting on their behalf will enter into any communications with any entrant regarding this Contest other than for finalist or winner notifications.

  • By entering, each group member warrants and represents that the group and its members are not currently under a recording contract and that the group’s entry composition is original (i.e., not a cover), does not defame or otherwise violate the rights of any third party and does not violate any federal, state or local laws or ordinances.

  • Entering band members further warrant and represent that the band has secured the requisite consent from any third party referenced in the group's recorded entry and agrees that Sponsors and their designees shall have, without limitation, the non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to record, adapt, modify and exploit the entry, and the recording and composition embodied therein for trade, advertising, promotional and/or other purposes as Sponsors may determine without further consideration to the relevant band or its members. No transfer, cash redemption, or substitution of prizes except by Sponsors due to prize availability and then for a prize of equal or greater value.

  • If the scheduled THE AMERICAN MUSIC REVOLUTION Showcase is canceled for any reason, all entries will be voided.

  • Taxes on prizes and any other expenses associated with prize not explicitly stated herein are sole responsibility of the individual winners.

  • Entrants agree that: (1) Sponsors and their designees shall have the right and permission to use (if a winner) entrant's name, CD recording, and photograph or likeness, as well as entrant's voice and city of residence for advertising, publicity, trade and/or other purpose without additional compensation (unless prohibited by law); and (2) Sponsors, the participating local radio station and each of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, retail locations, distributors, suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies shall have no liability and will be held harmless for any liability, loss, injury or damage to entrants or any other person or entity, including personal injury, death or damage to personal or real property, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of prizes (including without limitation, the activities associated with performing in this showcase or travel related thereto or participation in this showcase).
